I ordered, and received, one Falcon garage door kit and was so pleased I am ordering three more.
Great to get a product that works as advertised. Not difficult to install once you get the hange of it.
Hi! I am so glad that you are happy with the product. We have your order, and will be shipping it today.
how do you insulate a section with long panel windows(16×7)?
Mike, to insulate a section with windows, as long as the garage door has the proper panel edges on the window panel, you can simply cut the insulation panel to match the window opening. Make sure to inspect and measure carefully, including taking a look at the window panel during operation. Alternatively, if it is clear that the Falcon Foam kit will not work for whatever reason, you can glue the foam to the inside of the garage door around the windows. If yo uselect this option, be sure to duct tape the pieces on first to give yourself a “dry fit” test. Then open and close the garage door, and take a look through the windows ot make sure you have what you need before committing.
Hi there:
I live in Western Canada and would seriously like to purchase two kits asap.
Please advise me how shipping would be arranged.
Many thanks.
Dear Len,
I’ll be happy to send you a couple of kits – but shipping may be more than you want to pay.
Most likely, it will cost as much as the kits themselves.
The kits are very large – and ship Tier 2 oversize.
If you still want to go ahead, let me know and I will calculate shipping and let you know.
Hi there:
Sorry for the tardy reply, I have been travelling over the past few weeks.
I believe that Falcon is producing what is probably the best kit on the market and I am prepared to pay the outrageous shipping costs. Please advise me of the estimates at your early convenience. Many thanks.
Len Atchison
Hi Len,
Wow, shipping to Canada will be brutal – but I will have the estimates out to you today. Bear in mind that due to the high cost of transport, no returns or refunds are possible….
My garage door panel sections are 24″ tall and 48″ wide. Do you have a kit that will fit with out piecing in the other 4″ that the kit will not cover?
Hi Chris,
Sorry we do not have a solution for you. The only way I know to do this is to cut the panels, and jsut try to minimize the waste.
Maybe try these? They are on the garage door insulation products page
Extra Panels For Metal Garage Doors. Perfect for oversized Garage Doors or Replacement Needs.
Contains 2 panels (each 1 1/4? x 20 1/4? x 54?)
Falcon Foam Extra Panels
I have a garage door that has 16 panels in it. Each one is 21″ top to bottom and 46″ side to side and 1 1/2″ deep. Do you have anything that will work for this and what would be the cost?
Hi Tim,
Check out my reply to Sharon below. If you have an exacto knife, and don’t mind a little extra work, you can make the Falcon Foam Garage Door Kit work for you.
I had a question…this *seems* like the product I want, but…
I have a vinyl garage door. It’s 16′ wide. It has 5 panels, the top four are 18″, the bottom one is 21″.
Do I have to use someone else’s product?
Hi Sharon,
No, you can use this kit. The panels are easy to trim to your own garage door. When you think about it, they would have to be – there are so many different garage door manufacturers, types and designs. Check out this page: Falcon Foam installation instructions
Question,
I am repairing some damaged foam panels on my garage doors but they are 1.75-2″ thik. Do you make any this thick? I can’t seem to find any.
JC
Hi Jim,
Sorry we do not. But you can cut a spacer out of foam or wood to use between the edges of the metal panels on your door, and our Falcon Foam panels. That will hold them in place. It may look a little off with the differing thicknesses of foam, though.
question:
for a double car garage door, do i need to have my door re-balanced for the additional weight from the foam panels?
j
Hi Jeff,
Nope! Check this out from our Falcon Foam Garage Door Insulating Kit FAQ
Question: Will the additional weight of the Garage Door Insulation effect the operation of my garage door opener?
Answer: One Garage Door Insulation Kit weighs approximately 10 pounds. This slight addition in weight should not affect the performance of the garage door opener nor require a change in springs. However, if you have concerns you should check your owners manual or consult a professional Garage Door Specialist.
I need a Clopay replacement panel- Model:183, Col: sw, Misc: Int,
Glaze: Sol, 9 feet wide by 18 inches tall, can you help me?
Hi Christal! We don’t do replacement panels, just insulation panels. Sorry, but you’ll have to contact Clopay for that.
Hi! I AM THRILLED TO HAVE FOUND YOU!!!!!!
I am insulating my garage door to stay closed for a studio. (it has a hurricaine lock @ bottom -im not sealing it totally shut so the next owner can remove if need be)!
I need to INSULATE for HVAC purposes.
It is:
METAL
DOUBLE (18′ opening).
Seems I will need 2 kits.
And some type of THRESHOLD MOULDING ON BOTTOM.
some type of MOULDING (inside/outside) along the sides, to seal completely. I suppose the TOP as well!
My final concern is the door has 2-3 inches of ventilation along the bottom track.
Is this insulation just for the (16) panels? or the entire Door?
As I need to weatherproof the vents then cover, as well. I am in South Florida so we have much rain!
THANK YOU so much, for your professional knowledge.
Please also tell me my fastest shipping choices (USP Ground or FED EX)?

I am in need of replacing 2 complete garage doors. This would be 8 panels that are 9′wx22″hx1 1/4 thick. They are wood panels and I would like to replace them with aluminum or steel insulated panels. What do you have that will work for my situation? I can install them myself as I use to do construction and am very mechanically inclined. I am located in Georgia
Your best bet is to measure your door openings and just buy the doors outright. A good place to start, if only for ideas is with Clopay: http://www.clopaydoor.com/residential-garage-doors.aspx
